Wedding Photography FAQ

Everything you need to know about booking a wedding photographer in Seattle, Tacoma, and the Pacific Northwest

How much does a wedding photographer in Seattle cost?

Wedding photography in Seattle typically ranges from $2,500 to $8,000+ depending on coverage hours, team size, and deliverables. Our packages start at $3,200 for 6 hours of coverage with one photographer and go up to $6,500 for our premium all-day package with two photographers, an engagement session, and a wedding album. We also offer custom packages tailored to your specific needs and budget.

How far in advance should I book a Seattle wedding photographer?

We recommend booking your Seattle wedding photographer 8-12 months in advance, especially if you're planning a wedding during peak season (June through September). Popular Seattle and Tacoma wedding dates can book up quickly. For destination weddings in the San Juan Islands or other high-demand PNW locations, booking 12-18 months ahead is advisable. Contact us as soon as you have your date to check availability.

What is your wedding photography style?

Our photography style is a blend of photojournalistic storytelling and fine art portraiture. We capture candid, authentic moments as they unfold throughout your wedding day while also creating stunning, editorial-quality portraits. Our editing style is timeless and romantic — warm tones, natural skin colors, and a clean, elegant aesthetic that won't look dated in 20 years. We avoid heavy filters or trendy editing styles.

Do you travel for weddings outside Seattle?

Absolutely! While we're based in Seattle and primarily serve the greater Puget Sound area (including Tacoma, Bellevue, Kirkland, Redmond, and Snohomish County), we love traveling for weddings throughout Washington State and beyond. We frequently photograph weddings in Leavenworth, the San Juan Islands, the Olympic Peninsula, Mount Rainier, and Oregon. Travel fees may apply for locations outside the Seattle-Tacoma metro area.

How many photos will we receive from our wedding?

The number of photos depends on your coverage hours and the events of the day. Typically, our couples receive 50-80 professionally edited images per hour of coverage. For an 8-hour wedding, expect approximately 500+ images. Every photo is individually edited for color, exposure, and composition. We deliver quality over quantity — every image in your gallery will be one worth keeping.

When will we receive our wedding photos?

We deliver a curated sneak peek of 15-20 images within 48 hours of your wedding day — perfect for sharing on social media! Your complete, professionally edited gallery is delivered within 4-6 weeks via a beautiful online gallery where you can download, share, and order prints.

Do you offer engagement photo sessions?

Yes! Engagement sessions are included in our Signature and Premium packages, and can be added to the Essential package for $650. We offer engagement sessions throughout the Seattle area at locations like Pike Place Market, Discovery Park, Kerry Park, Gas Works Park, Golden Gardens, and many more. It's a wonderful way to get comfortable in front of the camera before your wedding day.

What happens if it rains on our wedding day?

Welcome to the Pacific Northwest! We're experts at working in all weather conditions and actually love the moody, dramatic atmosphere that overcast or rainy days create. Some of our most stunning images have been captured in PNW mist and rain. We always come prepared with rain plans and know which Seattle and Tacoma venues offer the best covered alternatives for outdoor portraits.

Do you provide a second photographer?

A second photographer is included in our Signature and Premium packages and can be added to any package for $600. Having a second photographer is highly recommended for weddings with 100+ guests, multiple getting-ready locations, or when you want comprehensive coverage of your ceremony from multiple angles. For intimate weddings and elopements, a single photographer is often sufficient.

Can you recommend Seattle wedding venues?

As a Seattle-based wedding photographer who has shot at venues throughout the area, we'd be happy to share recommendations! Some of our favorite Seattle-area venues include The Foundry by Herban Feast, Sodo Park, The Edgewater Hotel, Olympic Rooftop Pavilion, DeLille Cellars (Woodinville), Thornewood Castle (Tacoma), Hidden Meadows (Snohomish), and many more. We can suggest venues based on your style, guest count, and budget.

What should I wear for my engagement session?

We send a detailed style guide to all our couples, but general tips include: choose complementary (not matching) outfits, opt for solid colors or subtle patterns, bring a second outfit for variety, and wear something that makes you feel confident. For Seattle engagement sessions, layers work well since weather can change quickly. We're always happy to help with outfit selection!

Do you photograph elopements?

We absolutely love elopement photography! The Pacific Northwest is one of the best places in the world to elope, with stunning locations like the Olympic Peninsula coastline, Mount Rainier National Park, the North Cascades, San Juan Islands, and many hidden gems throughout Washington State. Our elopement packages start at $2,400 and include planning assistance, 4 hours of coverage, and all edited images.

What is your cancellation policy?

We understand that plans can change. Our booking retainer (which secures your date) is non-refundable, but can be applied to a rescheduled date within 12 months. If you need to cancel, any payments beyond the retainer are refundable up to 90 days before your wedding date. We always work with our couples to find the best solution. Full details are outlined in our contract.

Do you provide prints and albums?

Yes! We offer premium prints, canvas wraps, and handcrafted wedding albums through our professional print lab. Albums are included in our Premium package and available as an add-on for other packages starting at $800. We handle all design, proofing, and ordering to ensure the highest quality. Your online gallery also includes an integrated print shop for ordering individual prints.
